I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is a special time of year and the weather was not too bad.
So now we move onto Halloween. Speaking of which, Chris and Wendy Kensley have things fully decorated as they do every year. They put a lot into it so it is worth the drive by their place just to see it.
Father Ghislain is home from the Congo and he is doing pretty good. He looks okay. I think he still needs some recuperating time. We wish him the best and are happy to have him back among us.
A tea was held at St. Joseph’s Manor on Saturday afternoon. We hope they had a good turn out.
Julie Jones Pharmacy celebrated 10 years in business last week so the street was very busy. She had a lot of good specials on and draws for a basket of merchandise and a tablet. We congratulate her and her staff. Julie is very attentive to everyone’s needs. She always goes the extra mile if you need special attention or advice. The staff is very helpful and friendly so they make a good team.
The list of candidates is out for all municipal elections so now we ponder who we think can do the best job. It is an honour to be voted in to serve your town and/or municipality, it should not be taken lightly. The decisions made at council involve spending our hard earned tax dollars. Let’s hope the most qualified person for the job gets in. It is not a popularity contest. This is serious business.
By next week we will know how the debate of all candidates for county warden will have turned out. Lots of things to consider this year.
I had a chat with Aggie Morin. She says she feels stronger every day but admits it’s a tough road.
Did anyone notice we don’t have those black hard shell bugs with the red stripe this year on Front Street? Let’s hope they have run their course. Maybe I am speaking too soon and they will still come. I don’t know, what pests they are. Cluster flies on the other hand did not miss a beat. They are here for their last go of the season, hateful things.
A lot of people seem to already be getting the cold, sore throat, sinus infections, and even pneumonia. It seems to me that is early and an indication maybe of a longer flu season so we better get our shots as soon as possible.
Well, I guess that about does it for this week but I do want to wish everyone a happy birthday and a happy anniversary if you are celebrating and to everyone we wish good health.
