The Equity

Our sympathy to the family and friends of Guy Bergeron who passed away Sept. 4 at 84 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The service celebrating the life of Ernest (Ernie) Schwartz took place last Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Schwartz, Que. Rev. Ted Heinze conducted the service. Jennifer Mielke sang “How Great Thou Art.” The eulogists were Della Schwartz Lecompte and Lynne Schwartz. Organist was Roy Bretzlaff. Following the service a delicious luncheon took place in the church basement.

We sure have had nice weather this past week. It gives us a good chance to get outside work done and to get our gardening finished. I still have to dig my potatoes in Rankin, Ont. but I only have two small rows.
Oktoberfest is nearly here with only a week and a half left and then a week later hopefully is my hip replacement on Oct. 6.
I was talking to Allison Corrigan last Sunday and he is recovering well from his hip surgery. Next April he is going for knee replacements.
Last week I had a phone call from May Schwartz who is recovering nicely from a hip replacement that she had Aug. 25 and she is now only using a cane to walk.
My sister Beulah is with us this week, I guess until Friday. It’s always nice to have her. Beulah enjoys coming with me to Otter Lake on Tuesday night to play cards and Thursday night to play darts.
Happy birthday to Reuben Hodgins and Basil Hodgins who both celebrate on Sept. 21, also to Shirley Cluff on Sept. 23, to Lorna (Palmer) Dagg on Sept. 24, to Maynard Tanner and Ray Dagg also on Sept. 24.
Happy anniversary to Diane and William Deering on Sept. 20, to Edith and Ross Campbell also on Sept. 20 and to Evelyn and Donald Duff on Sept. 24.
