Well, we were spared from all the snow that they had forecasted for us on Saturday and also the freezing rain. We did receive rain though. Everyone is hoping for a bit more snow for Christmas and the snowmobilers and skiers are also wishing for more.
It is such good news to hear that the first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine are arriving in Quebec and across the country. For the first stage these four groups are to receive the vaccine. . .
residents and staff of long-term care homes; adults 70 and older, beginning with people 80 and older, then decreasing by five years increments to 70 as supply becomes available; health care workers, including all those who work in clinical settings and personal support workers who come in direct contact with patients; adults in indigenous communities where infection can have disproportionate consequences. The second stage recommended: health-care workers not included in the initial roll out; residents and staff of all other congregate settings (e.g. living quarters for migrant workers, correctional facilities homeless shelters); essential workers, including police, firefighters, and those in food production.
I am slowly getting ready for Christmas. All the presents are wrapped. I have to finish up some baking.
Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the Marion family of Waltham in the recent passing of their brother Layden Marion of Pembroke, Ont. He was the beloved husband of Christine (nee Omanique).
