Due to COVID-19 our annual Golden Age Christmas dinner had to be cancelled this year. It was normally held on the first Saturday of December. On Saturday evening, the Waltham Station Restaurant served up a tasty turkey dinner with . . .
all the trimmings and the Waltham R. A., with the help of little elves, safely delivered it to the seniors’ homes. It was sad not to be able to gather with family and friends at the Waltham Town Hall to socialize and reminisce. Hopefully next year we will be able to gather once again.
On Sunday, Santa arrived in Waltham. This year Santa made his appearance by way of the Waltham fire truck. The truck was decorated with Christmas lights and huge inflated Christmas figures. Santa could be heard on the truck’s PA system hailing out all manner of Christmas cheer. With his helpers, he travelled around the village and stopped at the homes of the children. Candy was delivered to the homes as he travelled. Santa was quite up to date with his COVID protocol. Much appreciation to the RA and to all those who helped out to bring some much needed joy and excitement to the children.
