We were all shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden, accidental death of Courtney Presley this past weekend. He was in Alberta at the time of the accident. Courtney was the son of Brian Presley and only 26 years-old. We all send out our deepest sympathies to Courtney’s friends and family. Our hearts are with you.
Just want to let everyone in Litchfield know that the landfill site will be open regular hours during Christmas and New Year’s.
Did any of you get out to see . . .
Jupiter and Saturn lineup on Dec. 21? There are many stories about this occurrence and lots of different opinions of why it’s happening. December 21 is also the shortest day of the year so now each day is getting longer so that’s something to look forward to.
Now there’s a new mutated strain of COVID happening in England. People are getting too complacent. I know we are all getting sick of not being able to be together, we are tired of not being able to hug each other or play cards or games. But, and that’s a big but, if we all wear our masks, wash our hands, do social distancing and respect our officials and experts, we just might be able to get over this pandemic. It is a war in a sense and we are losing people to this war. Young and old alike are dying from COVID-19. Let’s all do our part to protect one another.
The government is just asking us to stay home. They’re not asking us to send our firstborn out to war. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Why don’t you enjoy your children and go sliding, make snowman and sculptures and go skating? Well, that is when we get snow and enough cold weather to do this. Invent things to do with your children or your significant other. We all have to reinvent the wheel.
Just be thankful that you have someone in your house to talk to or fight with, or play with. I live alone and still manage to fight with and talk to myself. It’s great fun because I always win. Seriously, I am keeping myself busy by cooking and this week it’s going to be buns, bread, homemade beans and any other suggestions that people have for me to make. I have a lot of meat pies and lasagna and cookies ready so feel free to call for an order and if you have something special in mind give me a call.
My truck is in the garage this week. Hopefully I will get it back before Christmas so I can make some deliveries.
I want to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year and I’m also wishing that all of you stay safe and warm in your homes.
Oh yes, I have a little bit of exciting news and that is that Langford’s Store in Campbell’s Bay has their liquor license. This will make a lot of people happy for Christmas.
