New in Sheenboro — welcome to. . .
Harry’s Biblio and Treasures. Geoff Murphy was inspired to build the library because of his dad’s long love of books. Growing up his dad would often take him and his sisters to the library as an outing. At home or at the cottage, Harry always had many books on hand to lend to anyone who was interested in an afternoon of leisure. Keeping this in mind, the library, built from recycled material and volunteer help, was built in Harry’s honour. Geoff said his dad has imparted a deep love for this area. His family really hope you will enjoy and take part in the “take a book leave a book” library. This is a great way for residents of Fort William and Sheen to get to know each other. The library also has a small door to accommodate tiny toys or treasures for children. The Biblio Harry will soon be located outside the transfer site on Sarah Road in Sheenboro. Yours to enjoy.
Canada Day festivities in Sheenboro again this year will be low key due to the pandemic. The Sheen Recreation Association who are the main organizers of the event, have been handing out Canada flags and Canada Day mugs to those who wish to take part in decorating their property entrances. During the day, local musicians will be playing in the park and you can go by Billy Brennan’s on Meehan Road between noon and 2 p.m. to hear live music from his Shamrock wagon.
Happy Canada Day to all.
