Our thoughts and prayers for the Tanner family on the loss of Edward on Dec. 24. Edward was the husband of Shirley. He was the father of Lawrence (Anne), Jeffrey (Mavis), Janet (Luc), and Tiger (Chantal) and Kelly. Edward was . . .

the brother of Freda (Elbourne Bean) and Ola (late Roderick Telford).

We wish our readers a safe, happy and prosperous new year.

Our deepest condolences to the Gravelle family on the loss of Ross on Dec. 29, 2020 at the age of 79 years. Ross was the husband of Eleanor Smith.

The Municipality of Shawville noted that due to COVID-19 the following municipal buildings will be closed to the public until Jan. 11 — The Shawville and Clarendon Town Halls, Shawville-Clarendon Fire Department, Library-Archives, Community Lodge and the Arena.

This is just a reminder that parking or stopping a vehicle on a public road between midnight and 6 a.m. from Nov. 15 to April 15 is prohibited on the whole territory of the municipality. During or after a snow storm, no vehicle shall be parked on any street in a manner such as to hinder the plowing and removal of snow. The owner of any vehicle contravening the provisions of these by-laws shall be liable to a minimum fine of $30 and in addition to having the vehicle towed away at the owner’s expense.
