The  Shawville Remembrance Day ceremony was held on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. There was a wonderful turnout and it was a beautiful ceremony. Lest we forget.
Bells from many churches were rung throughout the Pontiac this past weekend on Nov. 11, to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of peace. Bless all the veterans who gave their lives for our freedom and the ones that continue to do so.

Happy birthday to the following people celebrating this week: Gail Tracy, Jerry Callaghan, Gerald Sharpe, Luke Murphy, Ed Gutoskie, Brooke Rutledge, Katharine Hayes-Summerfield, Cathy Thompson, Steven Alexander, Cheryl Stewart, Kylie Beck, Sarah Musgrove, Tomi-Anne Greer, Wendy Moore, Heather Graham, Bruce Hodgins and Edith Campbell.
Couples celebrating their anniversaries this week are: Tom and Colleen Stewart and Boyd and Betty Lou Brownlee.
Seniors Drop In on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Masonic Hall on Main Street in Shawville.
Shawville United Church will be hosting its annual Christmas Dinner and Bazaar on Nov. 15.
The region is expecting a snowfall of 12 cm on Friday. It’s a good time to make sure that everyone is winter ready and safe.
St. Edward’s Church will be hosting its annual Christmas Tea and Bazaar on Nov. 17 starting at 1 p.m.
