Our deepest condolences to the Atkinson and Hines families on the loss of John at the age of 69. He was the husband of Linda. John was . . .

the father of Kristen. He was the brother of Ruth and Les (Monique). John was the brother-in-law of the late Les (Gayle Barr), the late Donnie, Gloria (Bob) Blackmore, Glenda (late Carey) Myers, Audrey (late Terry) MacLeod, Garry (late Linda Trudeau) Hines, Rick (Sharon Christian) Hines and Lindsay (Kim Hodgins). John was the owner of Atkinson’s Sports Bar for 23 years. He always helped our community and will always be remembered.

Our sympathies to the Mayhew family on the loss of Edward on June 23 at 57. He was the son of Earl and Beatrice. He was the father of Dustin (Chrystal), Kyle (Sarah) and Rory (Julia). He is survived by the mother of his children Constance Mulvihill. Edward was the brother of Marilyn (Jaime Sartre), late Tammy (Glenn Cabana) and Richard (Pauline).

Our thoughts and prayers for the Meier family on the loss of Otto on June 21 at the age of 91. He was the husband of Elsie. Otto was the father of Steve (Judy), Cathy and David (Ute).

This year Canada Day is in the middle of the work week and will be celebrated very differently due to COVID-19. Happy Canada Day to all.

Thank you to the Municipality of Shawville for its great work on retrofitting our water tower. Boil advisory and water ban now lifted.
