On Dec. 17, the Shawville Rotary Club announced that they would be financing the final 12 chairs for the Pontiac High School auditorium restoration project.
PHS Principal Debra Stephens said that they now have enough to replace all 145 seats, a task she estimates will be started over the summer.

“I thought this was going to take years, but it only took what, six months?” she said, noting that many classes of former students banded together to purchase seats, which really got the donation drive going.
Stephens added that the next item to be replaced in the auditorium is the curtains, as the new lights will be installed over the winter holidays.
