Congratulations to Adam and Sue (Chabot) Johnston and big brother Owen on the safe arrival of their baby girl. They welcomed beautiful little Emily Grace on Sept. 22. She is a granddaughter for Merry-Jill Chabot and Debbie and Alvin Johnston. Wishing the whole family all the best.
This past Saturday, a Night Market was held at Fabie’s on Hwy. 148 in Quyon. There was a wonderful group of local crafters, vendors and artisans set up in the yard, as well as beautiful horses and gorgeous scenery to take in. It was a fabulous event. Kudos to the organizers, who put the proceeds towards an Outdoor Leisure Bursary for both elementary schools in Quyon.
Also on Saturday, the Quyon Family Centre hosted their Harvest Supper in support of the 2021 Snowsuit Fund. A spaghetti supper was offered for dine-in at the Quyon Community Centre or for take-out. Several days before the dinner, it was announced they had sold out, so I take that as a huge success. Well done to all involved in organizing this event.
Birthday wishes are going out to Briar Armitage on Sept. 29, and to Patti Davis, Jill McBane, and Curtis Hudson who all celebrate on Sept. 30. We also have birthday wishes going out to Fletcher Schwartz on Oct.1, to Charlene Aubertin and Shelly Campbell on Oct. 2, to Sharon Hobbs on Oct. 3 and to Joan Foran on Oct. 4. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
This coming Saturday, I will be taking part in the Shawville Fall Street Market as I will have a table of Watkins products for sale. We are keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather and looking forward to a terrific day. There is a long list of amazing local vendors scheduled to be part of this event and it is also a great opportunity to check out the shops along the way. Hoping to see many friendly faces out from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. See you there.
