Congratulations to Michael Baker and Meghan Smith on the arrival of their baby boy, Mack David. He arrived on July 15 and he is a little brother for Cooper. Wishing the whole family all the best as they settle in with their new little bundle.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Gilmour and McCann families on the passing of Bill Gilmour on July 22 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda, daughters Kim and Heather, and all of Bill’s loved ones as they grieve.
On Friday July 23, the gang at Mountainview Turf celebrated a great season so far with a company barbeque. Billy T served up a delicious steak dinner, and we all enjoyed a few drinks, laughs and games.
Richard Proulx was the big winner of the day for having the closest guess of how many drinks were in the big Yeti cooler, and he took home the cooler and all of the drinks in it.
Brandon Campbell won a Rigid Radio for hitting his golf ball closest to the pin with an abnormal object, while Steve Rusenstrom won the longest drive with an abnormal object and took home a Stihl chainsaw.
I was pretty lucky myself, as Wayne Ramsay and I tied in Mountainview Trivia and I won in the tie-breaker, winning myself a pretty nice cooler. It was a great afternoon of relaxing and fun after a very busy season thus far.
Family and friends gathered on the deck at the home of Scott Young and Patty Bullard in Kanata on Saturday July 24 to mark the occasion of my cousin Jim Young’s 50th birthday. It was a great day at “Bowman’s Bar”, and we all had a great time visiting and celebrating Jim’s milestone birthday. A big thanks to Scott, Patty, and Kim for hosting us.
Today is my birthday, which I share with Jim, and also cousin Steve Rusenstrom, so I am sending big birthday wishes out to them.
