Of course, it was another quiet weekend in our neck of the woods without much to do. I cut my grass for the first time on Saturday. I had a ring of dark, long grass growing in my back yard which I was very curious about. We had several ideas of what might have caused it (UFOs? a swimming pool?) – but I have learned it is called “Fairy Ring” and is caused by fungus in the ground. You learn something new every day.
On May 1, there will be a plant sale fundraiser at Quyon United Church. It is the perfect opportunity to get some starts for your garden. Lindsay Hamilton will have a variety of vegetables, fruits and herbs to sell with all proceeds going to the church. Please note that masks and physical distancing will be mandatory.
