I bought a new lawnmower Saturday. My old one kept misbehaving. It was time. As I stood in front of the board with all the pictures on it, I thought, . . .

they all look the same to me, so I chose one that seemed a reasonable price. When my neighbour graciously put it together for me, he mentioned that it would probably take a few hours to charge the battery. The battery? I had purchased an electric lawnmower without even realizing it!

But, it got me thinking. All around me there are people in situations, some good, some not so good. I cannot know what is going on in that person’s life just by looking. Unless they let me into their life and tell me how they are doing, all my guessing and thinking will not really give me the full picture. The most helpful thing we can do for anyone is to pray for them. God sees. He knows. He can even give us insight so as to be a source of help. We are our neighbour’s keeper.
