A dear little, obviously hungry squirrel, ran along the railing of my deck where I had installed new Christmas lights and bit one off. He wasn’t injured, thankfully. You can get a shock I found out. I guess the little guy thought he’d found a wonderful, colourful, treat.
At this time of the year it’s easy to think like that squirrel. It’s almost Christmas and there is so much glitter and shine in the stores. We can end up biting off more debt than we can comfortably afford. But remember, Christmas isn’t about spending really. It’s the time to remember the babe in the manger. Emmanuel, God with us.
Giving can be as simple as a kind word, a smile underneath our masks …. it still shows. Try forgiving someone, help wherever possible. That way we will definitely have a merry Christmas.
