Mansfield Healing Garden hosts Truth and Reconciliation ceremony

The Pontiac Native Community hosted its fifth annual ceremony for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30 at the Mansfield Healing Garden, facilitated by Luc Amyotte and Karen Cummings. “Participants had the opportunity to share their thoughts and personal stories as they reflected on the enduring legacy of Canada’s residential school system, honour survivors and remember the children who never returned home,” said Ann Urbaitis, a member of the group’s board of directors. “Together, we all have a role to play in building a future where Indigenous Peoples are celebrated, respected, and empowered and the full truth of Canada’s history is acknowledged and honoured.”
