Our thoughts and prayers for the Foran and McCann families on the loss of Mae on Dec. 1, at the age of 85 years. Mae was the wife of the late Ervin. She was the mother of Brian (Stephanie), Dennis (Wendy), Barry, Audrey (Joey), Sandra (Dale) and Donald (Leslie). Ervin and Mae established the famous McCann’s Chips, which they ran for over 40 years in Quyon.

Happy belated birthday greetings to my brother-in-law Philippe Lacourse who celebrated on Dec. 7.

The Municipality of Shawville is happy to announce that . . .

The third Sunday of Advent is this upcoming Sunday, Dec. 13. The focus of this Sunday is joy. The traditional name for the third Sunday of Advent is “Gaudete Sunday” from the Latin word for rejoice in Philippians 4: 4-5 (Gaudete in Domino semper: Rejoice in the Lord always…the Lord is near).

Please note that there will be a temporary opening of the brush dump on C295 8th Concession Clarendon on Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
