Pontiac Midget A Lions

The Midget A Lions had two games over the weekend winding down their regular season.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Aylmer to face off against the Icebergs. The team is missing their two suspended players and are working hard to stay on top of their division. Evan Atkinson, on an assist from Willis Egan, managed to squeak a goal past the Aylmer net minder giving the Lions the lead in the first period. When the buzzer sounded at the end of the game, it was the only goal on the scoreboard. Lions took the 1-0 win.

On Sunday, in the freezing rain, the team travelled to Val des Monts to meet the second place Loups Collines team. It was a game of penalties and time ran out after only two periods of play. The Loups scored the lone goal of the game during a five on three power play on a deflection. This was the Lions first defeat of the regular season but they still maintain their first place position.

The next home game is Saturday, Feb. 9 against the Aylmer Icebergs at 4:30.
