Once again this year, the Waltham Recreation Association is having a Waltham Christmas Decorating Contest. Let us boost Waltham’s holiday spirit and light up the town. There are some wonderful . . .
first, second and third place prizes to be won. Houses must be decorated by Dec. 12. To keep things fair judging will be done by an independent third party not affiliated with the R. A.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Barry Tracey of Waltham. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (nee Dowdall). Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine, family and friends at this difficult time.
Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the Loignon and Lafrenière families, children and grandchildren in the recent passing of Louise Lafrenière (nee Loignon) of Fort Coulonge. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Lafrenière and the dearly loved mother of Sylvian and Marie-Joseé (Curtis Carroll).
On Friday, we received a little dusting of snow. This is to let us know what lies ahead. Hopefully we will have a white Christmas.
On Sunday morning at the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, five young children received the sacrament of Holy First Communion. Father Peter Do officiated the sacrament. Congratulations is extended to Sally Duff, Macie Romain, Carson Romain, Hayden Romain and Blake O’Neil.
Kayla Soucie-Moreau is celebrating her birthday on Dec. 7. Enjoy your special day Kayla. Best wishes to all others who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this coming week.
I cannot believe that this is the first week of Advent in the church calendar. It is a time to reflect as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Have a safe and a happy week everyone.
