We live in interesting times. This often quoted statement is meant to soften the sting of unpleasant events and circumstances. We have just emerged from 2020 and are now hoping for a kinder, more pleasant future. However, as my father often told me as a child . . .
“Make the best of what you have.” His generation lived through two world wars, polio, a pandemic, the great depression, and somehow emerged optimistic and ready to build a better life for themselves and the next generations.
As we face COVID-19, with the necessary social restrictions and difficulties that are causing us distress, we need to keep in mind how resilient and creative we can and must be. There is always some good that comes from challenges. Lets make the best of what we have.
