The yearly maple syrup harvest is well under way in Waltham, and in much of the Pontiac. The on again and off again of the maple trees has been a challenge for the ever-determined maple syrup makers.
This past week has been fairly rewarding, with the sap filling the cans at a steady pace. As warmer temperatures arrive, this year’s maple syrup operations will conclude as the maple trees send all available sap to the budding maple leaves. And the traditional maple syrup making will conclude for another year.
