I can see that there is are problems developing within families, friends and neighbours due to the fact that some who live among us refuse to get vaccinated. There are a lot of arguments and friendships destroyed over this very topic.  I am afraid that some of these differences will never be resolved. COVID is getting to all of us in one way or another.

I had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Saturday I planned to have turkey supper with three other single women at my place. I made homemade buns, pumpkin pie and a crunchy top banana cake on Friday. Saturday morning, I cooked and deboned the bird. Then I made the gravy. I peeled the carrots and potatoes, made coleslaw and beet salad.  Cooked cranberries and made stuffing. I had everything ready for my guests. But one wasn’t feeling well and the other couldn’t stay. Sharon Crawford and her pup, Luna, came. We wanted to play cards so we went to Karen and Randy’s. We played 31 with Dougie and after he left we played euchre. It was a good way to spend the evening.

When Sharon and I got back home we just had a turkey sandwich and a piece of pumpkin pie. So we didn’t get our nice supper that day. We didn’t mind because we had a great evening.

Carl, my son-in-law, came for a visit and had a bite to eat on Sunday morning. Carl came by himself because Shelly flew to Winnipeg, Tao stayed home to work on homework and Corben is away at college in North Bay. Vickie Crawford also came and we played a game of 31. Carl won. Then he went to visit his cousins.

I invited Randy and Karen over for supper because I still had all this food. Sharon had stayed overnight but was invited to go for supper at one of friends so she left at 2 p.m. Karen and Randy just sat down when Nancy Hunt drove by. Karen just happened to tell me that Nancy was alone for Thanksgiving so I asked Karen to invite her over. So now we were four and could play cards. We taught Nancy how to play 31 and she had a blast. I finally got to serve my supper. I had pre-set the table in the dining room complete with a pumpkin display for a centrepiece.

Carl came back and joined us at cards. It was so nice to have people over and just tell jokes and play cards. We laughed so much that it hurt. Carl stayed overnight and the next morning we ate breakfast and he tilled my garden before he left. What a great son-in-law I have. He is going to go to North Bay and see  Corben  and then head home to be with Tao.

I would like to wish Timmy Souliere a speedy recovery. So sorry to hear about your accident. Here is an opportunity to help out a family in need.

I would also like to send out a speedy recovery to Lee Newton who burned his arm quite badly. Hope it heals quickly.

Here is a bit of information I want to pass on to you. Even if your mayor and councillors all got back in by acclamation we still have to vote for warden. This year Michael McCrank is running for warden against Jane Toller. So it is important to go to your polling station and vote for the warden.
