On March 14, Theresa and I drove to Bancroft to meet our children Carl and Shelley so we could give them 100 pounds of hamburger we bought on special here and of course, a lot of other homemade goods. We met them at the parking lot at No Frills and we transferred all the food into their car. We then sat in our own vehicles and had a COVID visit. We talked for quite a while but it is not the same as visiting and being able to cook together or play cards.

Good news is that . . .

Teresa and I have our COVID shots booked but it will still be a while before Shelley and Carl get theirs. It’s still going to be a few more months before we can really get together. Maybe longer if this third wave continues. We can only hope that everyone will understand that it’s best to take the needle to prevent the spread to other people.

This past weekend has been absolutely beautiful weather wise and nearly all our snow has disappeared. The only spots that are left in my yard are just where the big snow piles were and I’m sure that will be gone by the end of the week. The redwing blackbirds are already back so I’m sure the robin’s will be next. It is so nice to hear their wonderful songs in the morning. They really brighten up your day.

I saw so many people sitting outside just enjoying the warmth of the spring sun. A lot of people were picking up around the yard, others were washing their cars and many were just out biking and walking. It is so nice to see people back out and about. It has been a long seclusive, drawn out winter and I can only hope that this summer we will be able to visit once again. I have noticed that a lot of people have changed in personality just by being more paranoid and afraid to communicate with one another because of COVID. It really has changed our lives.

I would like to send happy belated birthday wishes to Travis Corriveau on March 17, Tao Davidson and Raymond Pilon on March 18, Tianna Bertrand, Lauren Kluke, Ricky Crawford on March 19, Mike Stanton March 20, Thomas O’Brien and Phyllis Sloan on March 21. Happy birthday wishes go out to Noel Kelly on March 25, Robert Bertrand, Jimmy Belanger and Cindy Corriveau on March 26, Cole Hewitson on March 27, Barney Holland and Shane Jolin and George black on March 30.

Our next holiday is Easter which is coming early this year on the first weekend of April. I know it’s tempting to keep wanting to visit our loved ones but we have to wait till everyone is vaccinated. We must keep vigilant in order to control COVID-19.
