I would like to send out a happy belated birthday to Shirley Pepin who celebrated on March 7 and to Jerry Papel who celebrated on March 8. I would also like to wish the following people happy birthday: Fern Quinn and Dorothy Black on March 11, Carolyn Kluke and Serge Jolin on March 12, Norma Sparling on March 13 and to Brady McCrank on March 17.
My condolences to the friends and family of Lee Dubeau who passed away Feb. 27. His fellow truckers gave him a great send off and it was very heartwarming to see.
I would also like to send out my deepest sympathy to . . .
the family and friends of Paul Gauthier who passed away Feb. 28. We will never forget his smile.
We are finally getting some good news about the vaccinations for COVID. Now we have four new vaccines and they’re telling us that they’re able to vaccinate more and more people every day. We have to keep posted to TV, radio and newspaper for information as to when and where. You can also go on the Quebec website.
I kept myself busy the last 34 days by making cabbage rolls, spaghetti sauce and lasagnas and I also made some chili. Now I’m going to make some bread because I’ve had a lot of people asking for it. There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread cooking in the oven. I remember when my grandmother would make homemade bread on the old cookstove and she always kept the last little bit of dough to fry in grease and then dip into cinnamon and sugar when it came out of the pan. We didn’t know it then but we were actually eating Beaver Tails. We let that opportunity slide right by us.
Hopefully the real cool weather is behind us and spring is around the corner. I hope so because it’s always a great change and it lifts our spirits to see winter disappearing and the birds reappearing.
Hope you all have a great week. Our next little holiday is Saint Paddy’s but we will have to do it at a distance. That’s going to be really hard.
