The countdown has started. I have sold the house so I will be having a moving sale on Nov. 6 at 106 Church Road in Vinton from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Check out the ad in THE EQUITY. There are lots of crafting stuff, gardening tools, shovels, etc., something for everyone.

I have to sell all my goodies in the freezer and the pickles. This is the hard part about moving this far. I have to give up a lifetime of stuff. It’s the little things that add up. The screws, paper clips, paintings, tools, kitchen stuff like the potato masher. But I’m moving in with my sister and she has all these things so I have to let it all go.

We had our first snow flakes on Oct. 22. It wasn’t enough to cover the ground but we still got the message that winter is around the corner. It is time to put the gardening tools in the shed and pull out the shovels. You better get that wood in too. Clean out your mowers and prepare for winter. Make sure the snow blower is working. There are lots of things to do to prepare.

The dump hours are changing this week.  The new hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting on Nov. 4.

I voted for the last time to choose the councillors and warden in our municipality. October 31 was the early poll and Nov. 7 will be Election Day. I hope you all go out and vote even if there were no councillors or mayors to vote for in your municipality, you still have to choose the warden.

I would like to wish the following people a very happy birthday: Abigail McCrank on Nov. 3, Adam Frost on Nov. 5, Jessica Frost, Simon Corriveau and Barbara Sparling on Nov. 6, Margaret Ann Mousseau on Nov. 7 and to Amy McGuire De Schryver on Nov. 8.

Remember to change all the batteries in your smoke detectors, clocks and remotes on Nov 7. This is when the days really shorten quickly and it gets dark earlier.
