The world is anxiously watching to see how this inauguration is going to go down. Even after the inauguration there is still going to be a rough road ahead. How much more civil unrest will the Americans have?

Well, we finally have snow in the Vinton area but we only got maybe four inches. Still not quite enough to make a big snowman or to go skiing or snowmobiling comfortably but it’s a start. What is really scary is that . . .

the river isn’t frozen over yet in spots so it can be very dangerous to be on there so please be careful.

I had to go to Hull to get an eye injection on Thursday and my appointment was at 8:15 a.m. and I was out in 10 minutes. I hope they can run these doctors’ offices the same after COVID as now because they do not make you wait in the offices for a couple of hours anymore. Same thing goes with the hospitals because the next morning I had an appointment to get a cortisone shot in my hip in the Gatineau Hospital at 9 a.m.. We got there a half hour early so I went ahead in and they took me right away and I was back out at 9:02 a.m.

Now when you go to the Gatineau Hospital there is a big screen tent outside the hospital which you have to go through and you have to stand six feet apart. Then they give you a brand new mask to put on and make you sanitize your hands. Then you have to go to the receptionist and your name has to be on the list or you can’t get in. It made me feel a lot safer to see that they are screening so closely.

On Monday I made apple pies and apple crisp and Tuesday and Wednesday I’m going be making some more turkey potpie’s. Next week I have to start on more lasagnas cause I’m sold out. I make everything in a nine inch by nine inch container so every meal will feed four people. It’s quite handy to have these frozen and in your freezer for a quick meal. I have meat pies, beans and cabbage rolls and I also have egg rolls which are so delicious.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Allan Pepin, Jr. on Jan. 20, to Steve Morin on Jan. 23, to Reuben Mayhew on Jan. 24, to Isaac Lamonica on Jan. 25, to Lynn Boisvert Leach and Merlyn Brown on Jan. 26.

Valentine’s Day is soon coming up and I have literally 100 chocolate molds for sale so feel free to check them out on line.
