Deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Evelyn Baird nee Tubman who passed away Feb. 20 at the age of 73. She was the wife of the late Raymond Baird and the . . .

mother of Wayne and Nancy Harris.

Our condolences go out to the families of Murray Ranger who passed away Feb. 20 at the age of 79. He is survived by brothers Joe (Kathleen), Billy (Helen), Robert (Diane)and sisters Helen, Rosemarie (Raymond Shea) Lola (Arthur Burnett) and Anne (Kelly Leclair).

Last Saturday, we had a surprise birthday party for Carl Davidson for his 50th birthday. We held it at the Lions Club Hall in Campbell’s Bay and it was a great turnout with all his friends and family there. Carl’s birthday is actually on Feb. 17 and Shelley’s is on Feb. 15, so we celebrated both their birthdays.

Theresa and I would like to thank everyone who came and participated to help celebrate their birthdays. Everyone had a great meal and a good time reminiscing and playing games.

It was family day weekend for the Ontario school children so that gave them a long weekend to be with us. On Sunday, Bobby Mayhew, Carl, Corben and Tao put in the rest of my wood into the basement. I was so happy to get that done before the next cold snap which apparently is going to start again this Wednesday.

We had an awesome weekend as far as the weather was concerned with it being sunny and here in Vinton it was around six to 10 degrees above zero.

All I could hear was snowmobiles all weekend long having fun in the field and on the snowmobile trail. On Sunday, I went over to Karen and Randy’s and we had a bonfire and watched the kids having a great time on the snow machines.

I would like to wish a happy birthday to the following people: Bride Holland, and Gisele Pepin on Feb. 26, Beth Dubeau and Troy Lajambe on March 1 and Lorraine Hearty on March 3.

I would like to send out a speedy recovery wish to Rick Frost who had a little accident with his hand. I hope it wasn’t your bingo hand Rick.
