Congratulations to Ricky Frost and Courtney Harris who were elected to be our new councillors for Litchfield. I am shocked that Mike McCrank didn’t get elected for warden. I know he would have been great at the job. Don’t give up Mike. Let’s see what the next four . . .
years bring. I would also like to congratulate Karen Nayler of Thorne on being re-elected as mayor. I am proud to call you my friend.
I would like to congratulate everyone who won a seat but also thanks to all the candidates who ran. At least we know who is concerned about our townships and municipalities. Thank all of you for your participation.
I had a fantastic turnout for my moving sale. I sold nearly all my baking and I ran out of turkey pot pies so I’m making more today. I don’t know if I’ll have time to make meat pies but I will try.
I want to thank Karen Stevenson for helping me set up and Sharon and Vickie Crawford for all their help the day of sale. I couldn’t have done it without their help. What great friends I have. I’m sure going to miss them.
I’m really excited about the move but also nervous about leaving the life I know behind. All theses questions pop into my head. Am I doing the right thing? Am I going to regret giving all my belongings up? Will I ever get used to driving on those mountains? Are my kids okay with this? How much am I going to miss my old life? There are so many thoughts going through my head right now but I must move forward. At least I’ll be with my remaining siblings. They had all moved to BC when they were in their early 20s and I was the lost sheep of the family. I stayed behind because I was married and had a different life. I also stuck around to take care of my in-laws and my dad. Then came the grandchildren and that was a big deciding factor to stay here. Now the grandchildren are starting lives of their own and I rarely see them. It will be just as easy for me to fly out to visit them as drive. I will probably see them just as often anyway.
Norma and I are both very craft driven and have lots of plans. She already has customers lined up for me for pies and jobs lined up for me to sew curtains. I know life will not be boring with my sister. She loves to keep busy and so do I.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Jimmy Lepack and Stephen Kavanaugh on Nov. 10, to Theresa Davidson on Nov. 12, to Scott Bertrand and Patrick McCrank, on Nov. 13, and to Elaine Pilon and Ashley Corriveau on Nov. 14.
Who is going to write the Vinton news after I’m gone? I hope someone steps up to the plate. I can think of a few people who would be great at doing this.
