Two Pontiac men were arrested in separate incidents of driving under the influence over the weekend, and both may be charged with impaired driving, according to a press release from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The release states that Saturday night around 7 p.m., SQ officers in the MRC Pontiac were notified of a single-vehicle collision involving an off-road vehicle. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Clarendon, lost control of the vehicle on Chemin Picanoc in Otter Lake.
A blood sample was taken and the man was sent to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Later that same night, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 15, police officers were informed about a vehicle that had gone off the road on Chemin de la Montagne in Sheenboro.
The officers conducted routine checks and arrested the driver, a 49-year-old man from Allumette Island. The man’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. The driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle seized for 30 days.
Both men will appear in court at a later date at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse and may face charges of impaired driving.
