Our condolences to the Kohlsmith and Nephin families on the passing of Ivon (Ira) Kohlsmith of Pembroke, Ont. She was in her 99th year and the daughter of the late John Nephin and Lillian Shelton of Nichabau, Que. She had supported the fundraiser for the Holy Spirit Cemetery in Nichabau. About a week before she broke her hip, she had her daughter Velma drive her over to visit her niece Betty Morris and check out the construction of the fence. She was a very thoughtful and caring lady.
Get well wishes and a speedy recovery from the Sheen folks to Harry Murphy who had his fourth hip replacement on Oct. 25. His son Jeff mentioned that he had gone for a short walk and the doctors were happy with the results.
Belated birthday greetings go out to Susan Campbell, Nolan Sullivan, Dick Edwards and his twin brother Jack and Jane Walker.
Birthday greetings and best wishes go out to Penny Perrault on Nov. 1, to Dylan Sullivan, Michael and Emily Lebel on Nov. 4, to Mike Galligan on Nov. 6 and to Carson Michaud on Nov. 7.
The October 50/50 winners of $5,000 in support of Residence Meilleur were Lucie and Sylvie Chartrand of Chapeau. I believe the seller of the winning ticket to be Yogi Brisard.
Tickets are also available for a Christmas draw supporting the three parishes of St. Alphonsus, St. Joseph’s and St. Paul the Hermit. The two prizes of $1,000, three prizes of $500 and five prizes of $100 for the sellers of the winning tickets will be announced at a Christmas Concert at St. Alphonsus Church on Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. The contact person for St. Paul the Hermit, Sheenboro ticket sales is Jean Gleason.
Good luck to all candidates running in the municipal elections.
