Congratulations to Lieutenant-Colonel George Boyuk who retired on May 14 after 34 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. George is the son-in-law of Laetitia Tardiff Peacock and the late Lieutenant-Colonel Hugh Peacock. He served with distinction throughout his career in Canada and abroad, including Central Africa, the Manitoba Flood and Quebec Ice Storm, Kosovo, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Darfur, Democratic Republic of Congo and Iraq. Currently at home in Ottawa, Ont. allowing for more quality time with his wife of 25 years, Lisa, and daughters Olivia and Farrah Sue. He has incorporated as a training and security consultant to advise international humanitarian organizations endeavouring to eliminate the recruiting and use of child soldiers in conflict areas in Africa.
