Our condolences to the Spence and Fox family on the passing of Teresa Spence nee Fox on June 25 at the age of 82. She was born on Oct. 8, 1937 in Sheenboro, Que. Beloved wife of . . .

Tom for 62 years. Loving mother to Jeff and Greg (Tina). Doting and proud grandma of Emily and Kayla who became the centre of her universe from the day they were born. Dear daughter of the late Tom and Grace Fox. Dear sister to Eldon (Janet), and the late Michael, Muriel, Peter, Thomas and James. Arrangements are in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Ottawa, Ont.

Belated birthday greetings go out to Kiara Sallafranque, our dear friend Paddy Kilbride of Ireland and to Roddy Morris.

Birthday greetings and best wishes go out to Gerald Wheeler on July 8, Rosita Walker Ryan on July 9 and Nelson Morris on July 10.

Canada Day in Sheenboro didn’t have the large crowds that gathered on July 1 to watch the parade but the celebrations still took place with family groups. There were mini parades, one on Perrault Road and one ICO/Hudson Bay Road. There was live music on Meehan Road from 12-2 p.m. and a hay wagon all decked out for Canada Day was spotted touring around Sheen. Many residents in our community decorated their entrance way with beautiful displays to show tribute and acknowledge the birthday of our country, Canada on July 1.

The horse pits have been restored and the shoes are all painted up ready for use at The Sheen park. This is a great little park with a lot to offer with the circular path for seniors who have young grandkids. They exercise while teaching their grandchild to drive their bike. Also the circular walking path can be extended to walking all around the St. Paul The Hermit graveyard which makes for an interesting walk.

Have a wonderful and safe vacation.
