The Victoria Avenue High School reunion for All Years 1969-1982 was held on Saturday, May 17. It was a rousing celebration involving 178 people including beloved teachers. An antique car show started the event following a meet and greet. Congratulations to the organizers and participants who made this a once in a lifetime event.
The Municipality of Shawville will be having a Heavy Garbage Pickup on Wednesday, May 21, west of Centre Street and Thursday, May 22, east of Centre Street. All items must be at curbside by 7:00 a.m., with normal garbage pickup remaining on Tuesday.
Pontiac Community Players will be hosting auditions for the play “Plays in the Park” on Sunday, May 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Shawville United Church situated at 410 Main Street. Everyone over 14 years old is welcome. The play will be performed in August 2025.
The Pontiac Agricultural Society will be hosting the RCMP Musical Ride on Sunday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shawville Fairgrounds. All proceeds to go to the Pontiac Arena Fund.
There will be a film launch of “Regional Realities” on Saturday, June 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coronation Hall in Bristol.
