Billy T’s Pizza has closed permanently and it is sad because this has been a mainstay restaurant in our community for decades.

There are still angels in the form of human beings and I am very thankful for the gentleman who stopped me in Portage-du-Fort on Mon., Feb. 24, to tell me that my rear lights weren’t on. He helped me find out the problem and fixed it immediately.

I am very proud of Canada’s hockey team which delivered a fantastic win 3-2 in Thursday’s 4 Nations Gold game against the United States.

Our sympathies to the LaSalle family on the loss of Roger on Feb. 15, at the age of 66. Roger was the father of Mathieu, Yannick and Melanie.

Our thoughts and prayers for the Grant family on the loss of John on Feb. 18, at the age of 74. John was the husband of Heather. John was the father of Shannon.

Our deepest condolences to the Lafleur family on the loss of Marc on Feb. 19, at the age of 39. Marc was the son of Charles Lafleur and Catherine Kluke.

There will be a second consultation concerning the housing project of Shawville on Mon., Mar. 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Shawville Community Lodge located at 244 Main Street.

The will be a first Seed Lending Library event on Wed., Mar. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Shawville-Clarendon Library.
