Shawville-based hard-rock band Beyond Driven opened for heavy metal singer Sebastian Bach at the Bronson Centre in Ottawa on Oct. 22 to a crowd of over 1,200 people.
Bach was popularised through his role as lead singer of hard-rock band Skid Row in the late 80s and 90s, and as Layne’s bandmate Gil in the TV show Gilmore Girls.
The big-ticket show for Beyond Driven came just a couple of weeks after the band released its debut single, Barely 18, which already has over 11,000 streams on Spotify.
“Coming from a region where the majority of bands, venues, and news focus on country music, we are proud to have reached a milestone like opening for Sebastian Bach,” said Erin Davis, lead singer of the group.
“It’s proof that rock music is not dead and that hard work and passion can break through.”
