Congratulations to Casey Henderson and Vicki Twolan on the arrival of their baby boy, Macklin. He is a little brother for Kip. Wishing the whole family all the best with their sweet little bundle of blue.

The Quyon Legion hosted a delicious Barbotte Supper last Thursday, and it was a big hit as always. There was a great crowd out to enjoy the meal, and everyone always loves the visit with friends and neighbours as well.

Happy birthday to Cowan Harris, celebrating on May 31, and to John Ramsay on June 1. We also have birthday wishes going out to Sydney McMurray on the 2nd, and to Peggy Fraser and Jen Bell on the 3rd. Best wishes to all who are celebrating special occasions this week.

Onslow Elementary School wrapped up a very successful Online Auction on Monday, with so many folks and local businesses offering up items and services, and many more who were bidding. Congratulations to all of the big winners. This Thursday, May 29, Onslow will be hosting a Spring Fair at the school. The Quyon Lions Club will be running the barbecue, while Shawville 4H will also be there, as well as many games and activities to enjoy. It is fun for the whole family, and all are welcome to attend.

This coming Saturday, the Legion is hosting a BBQ Party in honour of Quyon’s 150th Celebrations that are going on all year long. They will have music in the afternoon provided by Reg & Shag, and then a chicken & rib barbeque dinner served up by Smokin Boys and Hot Grills. Then in the evening, Chicken Fried will take the stage to entertain. It sounds like a great way to kick off the summer and celebrate Quyon’s 150th with the Legion.
