The Quyon Lionettes hosted the return of their popular car rally event on Saturday after missing last year due to COVID-19. It was a fantastic day despite rainy and dreary weather. The big winners were Meghan Foran, Heather Smith, Amanda Smith, Brittany McKenny, Tara MacDougall and Emma Madigan as they had the most correct answers and lowest mileage at the end of the day.
Kudos to the team of Sue McKay, Charlene Aubertin, Cassandra McKay and Kara Hardie who had to create this year’s rally. They did a wonderful job mapping the route and coming up with the questions and clues for the day. I had a blast with my team which included Stacy Johnston, Maddy Belland and Josée Simard. We were happy to tie with a bunch of other teams for fourth place. The highlight of our day was finding a very friendly donkey in a field on the back roads that was happy to pose for many pictures with us. It was great to be out doing the rally once again.
While the Lionettes were unable to serve a dinner due to pandemic restrictions, Clarendon Street Café offered up a spaghetti dinner special specifically for car rally participants, which was a nice way to end the day. Special thanks to Mitchel and his staff for having this meal for the car rally crew.
Congratulations to Kristen Woolsey and Matt Curley who were married on Saturday at the Curley family farm in Luskville. Wishing the newlyweds all the best as they begin this next chapter of their lives together.
Happy birthday to Rilen Richardson celebrating on Oct. 26. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
