I hope everyone had a good Canada Day. We spent the day in Shawville watching the parade and fireworks and enjoying time with family. I then took advantage of an extra long weekend, with lots of time to get work done around the house and also taking time to relax and rest. It was low key but I very much enjoyed it. I hope that you all did the same. 

It is great to see families and friends finally able to get together with pandemic restrictions continuing to loosen. I know everyone is appreciating it after such a long time being apart and at a distance.

Congratulations to Kathleen Hickey and Mark Carkner who were married on July 2 at Orchard View in Greely, Ont. Their ceremony was small and intimate. Their many friends and family members who were unable to attend due to COVID rules were able to watch on-line. I am so glad to hear that Kathleen and Mark were finally able to have their fairytale wedding that they so deserved. Best wishes to the happy couple.

Birthday wishes are going out to Anita Draper who celebrated on July 6, to Cooper Baker on July 7 and to Paul Lang on July 8. Happy birthday to Everett Hamilton and Axl Orr, both on July 9 and to Paddy Dolan who is turning two on July 11. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
