A week ago Sunday, a storm went through our area that was very damaging for some folks, with trees down, gardens ruined, and crops destroyed. Our thoughts are with all who were affected by this natural disaster, especially the farmers and gardeners who have put so much time, energy and money into their ventures. Mother Nature is unpredictable and can be so devastating.
This past week, I was on vacation, and my family and I spent our time camping in my aunt and uncle’s yard in Castleford, Ont. on the Ottawa River. Despite the weather being unpleasant at times, we had a wonderful holiday. Swimming, campfires, s’mores, games, and so much more – it was a week to remember. A big thank you to Aunt Marion and Uncle Eric for hosting us, and to our friends who let us borrow their camper trailers for the week. Our whole family had a fabulous time.

This past Saturday, Lindsay, Ryan, Sam and Lainey Woermke revealed exciting news when they announced that they will be opening the Homegrown Garden Centre in Spring 2022. The garden centre will be located at Mountainview Turf, and will be a “one-stop shop” for all of your gardening and landscaping needs. Good things are growing in our little corner of the world, and it is great to hear. Wishing them all the best with this new venture.
