Congratulations to Meghan (Foran) and Blake Howarth on the arrival of their baby boy, Luke Nolan. He arrived on Aug. 17 and he is a little brother for Mason. Wishing the whole family all the best as they welcome little Luke into the fold.

It is hard to believe that the month of August is already winding down and that back-to-school and Shawville Fair are on the horizon. This summer has seemed to just fly by.
I hope everyone has been finding ways to keep cool in this scorcher of a heat wave we have been enduring this past week or so. I was very grateful to have my neighbours Donna and Eric Provost, who welcomed me to use their pool over the weekend. It was too hot to do anything but sit in the air conditioning or the water. I have been soaking up every bit of the summer while we have it, but my cold-weather-loving heart is getting anxious for fall. I hope the cooler days come soon.
