The precious signs of spring that I was hoping for last week are finally happening. The Quyon Ferry is opening for the season this Friday and I hear that the Casse Croute du Village will be opening the same day. I don’t believe that this is an April Fool’s joke either. How exciting and much . . .
anticipated after that wintery weekend we just had. Bring on the spring.
Congratulations to Mitchel Trudeau and his staff at Clarendon Street Café as they marked one year in business this past weekend. It has been so wonderful to have a restaurant in town again and it is such a beautiful one with great food and service. It hasn’t been an easy time for a new restaurant to open, during a pandemic and all the restrictions they have faced. They have handled it all so well. I am looking forward to many more delicious meals at the Café in the future.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Hickey family as Marilyn Hickey passed away on March 23. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones at this sad time.
Birthday wishes are going out to Don Stanley on March 30, to Glen Leach and his grandson Cameron Bernier who are both celebrating on April 1 and to Jenna Rainey-Fleck on April 2. Happy birthday to Sam Woermke and Graham Dowe who both celebrate on April 3, to my nephew Noah Young and Jack Clarke, both on April 4 and to Erin Hudson-Brazeau on April 5. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
