On Sunday, the Quyon branch of the Royal Canadian Legion hosted their annual Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Quyon. Prayers were offered by . . .
Father Christian Kukula and Pastor Paul Whynacht. Wreaths were laid by many local dignitaries and service groups, as well as by families in memory of loved ones who fought bravely for our country in the past. A light lunch was served at the Legion following the ceremony. Please, on Nov. 11, take the time to remember them.
Sunday was also municipal election day in Quebec. Congratulations to all of the winners here in the Municipality of Pontiac: Mayor Roger Larose and councillors Diane Lacasse, Caryl McCann, Garry Dagenais, Serge Laforest, Chantal Allen and Jean Amyotte. Kudos to all who had their hats in the ring as it is an admirable thing to want to represent your community at the council table. Well done to all of you.
Birthday wishes are going out to Vicky Leach on Nov. 12, to Bill Hamilton on Nov. 13 and to Hannah Dowe on Nov. 14. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
On Nov. 13, the Onslow Christmas Craft Sale will be returning after missing last year due to COVID-19. I am very excited to be attending for the first time as a vendor. I will be there with my table of Watkins products. The sale will be held this year at the Community Centre in Quyon, not at the school like it has been in the past. I am looking forward to seeing everyone out on Saturday.
The Quyon Pastoral Charge is bringing back the popular Christmas Facebook Auction as a fundraiser this year. The Auction will open on Nov. 14 at 8 a.m. and run until Nov. 28 at 5:59 p.m. Be sure to join the Facebook group if you are interested. You can contact me if you have anything you would like to donate. We hope to have another great variety of products and services for folks to bid on.
