Our deepest sympathy to the family of Hal Young who passed away on Jan. 14. The thoughts and prayers of the community are with his wife Muriel and all of his loved ones at this sad time.
I also saw on Facebook the obituary for Thomas Leach, a former Quyon resident who was living in Calgary. He passed away on Jan. 7 at the age of 57. Thoughts are with his friends and family.
Wishing a speedy recovery to Ricky Belland who had an unfortunate accident on the weekend resulting in . . .
a badly broken arm. Hope you are feeling better soon Ricky.
Birthday wishes are going out to Kristen Stanley on Jan. 21, to Kenny Fleck and Jaime Côté on Jan. 24 and to Lisa Nugent on Jan. 26. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
There isn’t much news to share these days with the COVID curfew in place and now the stay-at-home order in Ontario. Life is pretty quiet as we wait for spring and better days. I have started going for walks once a day again and it is always nice to see action on the sliding hill behind St. Mary’s Church, ice fishing on the river and skaters on the town rink.
It’s reassuring to see that many are finding ways to stay active and have fun despite these troubled times. The fresh snow we got this weekend will help for those who like to get out to ski, snowshoe and slide. I hope everyone is keeping their spirits up and finding ways to pass the time.
