This past Sunday, the Quyon Pastoral Charge held their annual Harvest Draw with the big winners being revealed during the online church service on Facebook. Congratulations to Anita Draper who won the beautiful afghan made and donated by . . .
Mary-Ellen Young. There were also two bountiful baskets brimming with goodies donated by church members, and they were won by Lisa Cartman and Juniper Young. As one of the organizers of this fundraiser, I can say we weren’t sure how successful it would be due to the pandemic and the fact that there were less opportunities to sell tickets. However, as usual, our community pulled through and made it our most successful Harvest Draw yet, raising over $1,000 in tickets sales. Many thanks to all who contributed, and to all from near and far who supported the church by purchasing tickets. It is greatly appreciated.
Belated birthday wishes are going out to Rilen Richardson on Oct. 26. Happy Birthday to Paisley Thomson, celebrating today and to Brady Trudeau on Oct. 29. Birthday wishes are also going out to Melanie McCann-Lang and Doug Kennedy, celebrating on Nov. 1, to Shawn Schwartz and Dianne McCann on Nov. 2, and to Laura Stewart and Chris MacKechnie on Nov. 3. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
Once again, we are facing another time of celebration that might look a little different this year due to the pandemic. That being said, I am convinced that Halloween can be celebrated in a safe way that is stillfun for the kids. No matter what you have planned for Saturday, I hope you all have a great day dressing up, carving pumpkins, watching scary movies, and enjoying the candy. Happy Halloween.
