Best wishes to Julie Cadieux, who recently retired after 15 years of service with the Quyon Family Centre. In a post on Facebook, the Family Centre shared that Julie ensured the smooth running and cleanliness of the centre with love and humour, generosity and dedication. Julie also prepared the meals at their . . .
Meet and Greets for seniors. During the pandemic confinement she provided weekly telephone support with each of the participants to maintain this precious link with the seniors. What a wonderful service she has provided our community, and we wish her well in her retirement.
Congratulations to Rev. Éric Hébert-Daly, the former student minister for the Quyon Pastoral Charge, who was ordained into the United Church of Canada on Oct. 3. It was a beautiful COVID safe service, which Bill Hamilton attended to represent Quyon. It was especially heartwarming for the Quyon folks to see Éric wearing the stole we gifted him on his last Sunday with us back in 2019. We are so proud of Éric and wish him all the best in his future as a reverend.
I’d like to give a special little shout-out to my nephew, Caden Provost, as last week he was awarded the Most Improved Player in the U17 category for his baseball team the Aylmer Tyrans Noir by the Association Baseball Elite Outaouais. Way to go Caden.
I somehow missed sending birthday wishes to my Sept. 30 babies, Patti Davis, Jill McBane and Curtis Hudson. I hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating. Birthday wishes are also going out to Lindsay Hamilton and Beverley Stanley on Oct. 12 and to Sandra McCann on Oct. 13. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
Deepest sympathy is extended to Cindy Lapierre and her family on the passing of her uncle, Leslie Craig, on Sept. 29. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
