Congratulations to Tara Taylor and Ed Rusenstrom on the arrival of their baby boy on May 30. They named him Irving Lindsay James. He is a little brother for Carson, Bennett and Pierce. Wishing . . .
the whole family all the best with their new little bundle of blue.
While there isn’t much news to report in town these days, with most events cancelled for the foreseeable future it was great to hear that the Community and Collective Garden has been brought to life at the Women’s Institute. This project is the work of the team from the Quyon Family Centre, the Pontiac Community Gym, and volunteers from the community. The project has been supported by the Municipality of Pontiac, our MNA André Fortin, the Pontiac Social Development Table, the services of Mountainview Turf and Nugent’s, the compost, mulch and plants from Roxovine Farm, Ferme Pleine Lune, the Pontiac Educational Garden, and Beaux Arbres, the tools from Magasin du Fermier and volunteers from Tim Horton’s Camp. It has also been wonderful to see the involvement of the students and teachers from both École Ste-Marie and Onslow School. The purpose of the garden is to provide education and opportunity for outdoor activity for the whole community, promoting a healthy lifestyle and learning how to grow our own food. Well done to all involved.
We have some big milestone anniversaries being celebrated in our community these days. Belated anniversary wishes are going out to Doug and Isabel Schwartz as they marked 50 years of marriage on June 6 and to Don and Bev Stanley as they celebrated 62 years of marriage on June 7. Anniversary wishes are also extended to Mona and Laurie MacKechnie as they are celebrating a remarkable 65 years married on June 11. Congratulations to all of you, your love and commitment is an inspiration to us all.
Belated birthday wishes are going out to Rebecca Nugent, who celebrated on June 4. Happy Birthday also to Chelsea Lapierre on June 12. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
