I hope that everyone is doing well these days. I have felt my spirits rising as the province continues to lift restrictions for COVID-19 and we start to experience a little of what the new normal is like.
On Saturday, our family . . .
gathered for the first time for an outdoor barbecue and a very belated birthday party for my nephew, Noah, while continuing to respect physical distancing and still being under a group of 10. It did my soul good to be with all of my family in one place again, even if it did have to be outside and at a distance. I had missed that so much.
Birthday wishes are going out to Peggy Fraser and Jen Bell on June 3, to Hal Young on June 4, to Mae McCann on June 6 and to Carl Demell on June 7. I’d also like to wish a happy birthday to my cousin Brody Platt as he turns five on June 8. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
Congratulations to Sue Chabot as she had a very special visitor at her door in Shawville last week. Sue had entered a contest run by Team Homan and curler Emma Miskew hand delivered the prize to Sue’s home herself. She won an autographed Emma Miskew Team Canada curling broom. I know how much Sue loves curling and I can only imagine how excited she must have been not only to win, but to have the opportunity to meet Emma. Such a cool moment.
