I hope everyone is holding up and keeping calm during these uncertain times, as the Covid-19 pandemic is now changing our daily lives and routines.

I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around it, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. I keep telling myself that this too shall pass.

If we all do our part with social distancing, staying at home as much as possible, and not breaking the rules, we will be back to normal sooner rather than later.

Everybody hang in there.

A big thank you to all of our doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and all essential workers who are going out every day and doing their best to keep us safe.

There were some bright spots over the weekend, as some sure signs of spring lifted our moods. The Casse Croute du Village opened for the season on Saturday and the Quyon Ferry opened on Monday morning. Both businesses will be taking extra precautions due to the coronavirus. It sure is nice to see some little signs of normalcy in an unprecedented time of anxiety.

I would like to extend my sympathies to my aunt and uncle, Nora and Elson Schock, along with Aunt Nora’s whole family, as her mother Iva Elliott passed away on March 20th in her 100th year. We are thinking of you at this sad time.

Belated birthday wishes are going out to Tianna Young on March 23rd. Happy Birthday to Ruby Fraser, Kirk Richardson and Terry Hamilton on the 27th, to Oliver Schwartz on the 28th and to Don Stanley on the 30th. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
