The Quyon Lions Club had a busy week in our community. They held the traditional pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday at the Quyon Legion with a great . . .

crowd out to enjoy the delicious meal.

We had a fun evening visiting with friends and the pancakes, beans, sausages, ham, salads and dessert were excellent.

Then on Saturday, the Lions hosted their annual curling bonspiel at the curling rink in Shawville. I had a great day curling with Brenda Clarke, Sue Chabot and my brother Luke. I always enjoy the day at the curling rink and seeing so many folks out to have fun. The big winners this year were J.P. Côté, Troy Côté, Adam Bernier, and Vicky Leach. The lucky winner of the 50/50 was Diane Richardson. Big thanks to Glen Leach for organizing this day. There are many of us who look forward to it.

The Fish Findlay Classic 3-vs-3 hockey tournament was also on in Shawville over the weekend, drawing people from all over the valley. Proceeds from this tournament go towards minor hockey in Shawville and it is great to see so many players and fans out to support the cause. Kudos to Darcy Findlay and all of his volunteers for putting on this tournament.

We have birthday wishes going out to Maureen McKenny on March 4 and to Hollie Leach on March 10. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.

The Quyon Legion would like to congratulate their first ever volunteer employee of the month, Joey Fraser. You’ll always be our number one.
