Congratulations to Virginia (Lavigne) and Ben Wolfe as they too welcomed a baby boy last week. Vincent Loyal arrived very quickly on Oct. 2. He is a baby brother for Louis. I was glad to hear both mom and baby are doing well. We are wishing the family all the best with their new addition.
We were saddened to hear the news that Rev. Isabel Black passed away in Ottawa on Oct. 1 at age 76. Isabel was the minister for the Quyon Pastoral Charge from 1995-2000.
I saw her only a handful of times after she left Quyon but it was always so nice to catch up with her. She was a feisty, fabulous woman, a mentor to me during very important years of my life and I am ever so grateful our paths crossed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Maurice and her family at this sad time.

The sports fields in Quyon have gone quiet again for another year. Kids’ soccer ran this fall after being delayed so long due to the spring floods and they wrapped up their season last week.
The Quyon 3-pitch league has wrapped up as well with Townline Cattle being the big winners of the season. The Quyon Flyers fastpitch team have also seen their season come to an end, being swept two games to none in their best-of-3 semi-final against the Micksburg Twins. Micksburg is now playing Kars in the GOFL finals.
